When it comes to swing dancing, one of the up and coming trends is line dancing. It is a trend because of the increasing popularity in the line dance scene.
For me, line dances are a big part of why I go swing dancing. Not only do I love the swing scene, but there is so much versatility when it comes to line dancing.
A lot of the line dances can seem overwhelming because they are fast paced and involve a lot of moving, but here are a few of the top line dances any beginner should learn.
1. Any Man of Mine

One of the line dances that I feel is easiest for beginners to learn is a classic song by Shania Twain. This line dance is done in a total of four moves that are repeated over and over.
2. Church Clap

This line dance may even be easier than the Shania classic. Church Clap is a simple line dance where you slide from side to side and stomp and clap. There are not a lot of moves to be done with this line dance, but it does allow for a lot of freedom and expression.
3. Boot Scootin' Boogie

The Boot Scootin' Boogie is a classic dance seen in many different parties. In fact, I did this one this week. This dance is a four wall dance --- meaning you face all four directions --- with a total of four moves that are repeated.
Overall line dances are not something that has to be complicated. I have a lot of experience doing line dances and teaching line dances. I can honestly say, that as long as you are having fun, then you are doing it correctly. The technique is not the most important part, just make sure you have fun and everything else will come with time and practice.
